That is not a message from Kermit.

Read Chapter 12 of "Using C-Kermit", High Speed Kermit File Transfer.
But as you have discovered, connections are not necessarily symmetrical.
They can go fast in one direction, but not in the other. They can be
transparent one direction but not the other, etc.
Kermit gives you all the tools you need to adjust to any connection and
to achieve the maximum performance the connection allows.
